On Sunday, May 13, 2001 please join the U.C. Alumni Chorus with special guest Gerald Nachman in a nostalgic musical tribute to the golden age of radio, featuring many of the beloved songs and quirky "personalities" that captivated America during the 30's and 40's. Himself a child of radio, Mr. Nachman lovingly guides us all in catching a glimpse of the heyday of American popular music. Among the radio traditions the chorus will recreate on stage are "Kay Kayser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge" and the perennial favorite "Your Hit Parade".
Immediately following the concert will be a reception where Mr. Nachman will be available to sign his book "Raised on Radio," published by the University of California Press. (Be sure to bring you-know-who for this perfect mother's day treat!)
Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors. We suggest you order early for this popular event, which is selling out quickly. You can purchase tickets from any UCAC member, or call the UCAC message line at (510) 643-9645.
